Just Add Absolute Heaven

“Are you going to dress up for dinner, Shy? After all you’re meeting his parents for the first time.”
“No, third. His parents have been to New York twice since we’ve been dating. The 1st time we ate dinner at the Russian Tea Room. Pretty great experience and his mom loved me. I wore some name dress. You know I’m not into that. Anyway, the next time his mom and I spent the whole day together. We went to the spa and shopping. Jay thought it was a good idea for us to bond. Also, his schedule didn’t give him a lot of time with her, so I was filling in. So, no. I’m doing my usual. Stunning top, sexy heels and jeans that he won’t be able to wait to strip me of. “
“You don’t think that’s something you should wait to just go out with him in?”
“He says that about all of my jean, Jenn.”
“Oh,” she replied as she chuckled. “Think he’ll propose? After all, you’re on his turf, eating with his family. It’s the perfect opportunity.”
“I don’t know. I think it’s too soon. Besides, he said that if he were to ever propose it would be a spectacular moment for just the two of us.
“So, you’ve talked about getting married?”
“Once or twice when he was trying to convince me that I was it for him. I’m pretty sure he’s the one, but I’m in no rush. We’re in a good place right now.”
When Kai came to get us we were ready to go. I was looking forward to making something with gems. I wanted to create something for Jenn to say sorry for keeping a secret. The hotel had the most beautiful obsidian and I decided to create a belly chain with them. They provided me with the pins and the beads and I got to work.
“Jenn, are you enjoying your trip so far?”
“Better than I expected, Ano. We weren’t expecting to see you until dinner.” Ano pointed to me. “Shy sees nothing when she begins to create.” Jenn elbowed me and made me drop the bead and pliers.
“Jenn.”
“Look who came to check on us.”
“Hey Ano. Now please take her some where so I can finish working.”
“Really, Shy.”
“It’s cool, Jenn. I’ve been dying for a moment to whisk you away.”
“Really, Ano?”
“Yes Jenn. Now go with him, you’re wrecking my vibe. You know how I feel about my creations and the energy in the room when I’m working.”
“Come on Ano, let’s leave her to her work. See you at dinner Shy.”
“Yeah, yeah. You’re still here.” She finally left and I gave the beads and wires to the Kai. I didn’t have to sit here and do it. There was someone to put it together for me. They just needed my color scheme and length. “Kai, I want to create something for my best friend. I couldn’t wait until she left. What should I create?”
“From what you told me on the phone, an anklet would be perfect. You just have to decide what stone. What would she appreciate and never want to take off?”
“Maybe a peridot and olivine?”
“Sounds great. Did you want to make it or have us do it?”
“I’ll start it.” I was so engrossed in my work I didn’t notice Jay’s parents come up behind me. “Okay Kai, I’m good. Can you have someone finish it for when she leaves?”
“Sure.” I turned away from the glass case and turned right into Jay’s dad, Kai.
“When it comes to creating you don’t see anything else do you.”
“No, dad.” I laughed as I hugged him.
“Isolina, I told you, it was her and that she would’t notice us.” I got off the stool and gave Isolina a hug.
“Good to see you both. You’re early for dinner.”
“We love this place. When ever we meet Jai here we come early and walk around.”
We took a walk down by the beach. It was so calming. I loved the sea. I just had to take off my shoes and get my feet wet.
“I hope, Jay and I will be like you when we’re your age.”
“Takes work, Shy. Anything worth it takes work and a lot of hand holding.” I nodded right before someone picked me up off my feet and swung me around. I knew who it was. I could smell my beloved’s cologne.
“Jay if you drop me, I’m not coming down for dinner. I just got all cute for you, don’t ruin it.”
“Now why would I do that.”
“See you soon Jay. Your mom and I are going to head up and grab a drink.”
“Okay dad.”
“Jay, what’s going on?”
He smiled as he pulled me a short way to the rattan canopy bed. Jay gestured for me to sit next to him. “I’m not sure you know how happy you’ve made me, Shyenne? You’ve brought beauty to my life. You’ve made it worth living.”
“Jay, that’s sweet.” He kissed my cheek and got down on one knee. I smiled. I wasn’t expecting this so soon. Before he said anything else, there was an explosion of lights in the sky. Each crackle spelt out another word or ’Shy would you marry me?’ Then he pulled a ring from his pocket and put it on my left ring finger.
“Will you marry me, Shyenne? Make me a happy and blessed man.” Tears rolled down my cheeks and I nodded. I scooted back on the bed as Jay got up. I reached for him.
“Think your parents will mind if we’re late?”
Jay smiled as he placed his finger over my lips and pressed himself against me as he whispered in my ear.
“I believe we can spear a few moments for my love.” Then he kissed me and I thought, ‘absolute heaven.’

That doesn't include my love to create things. I love working with my hands to crochet, draw, mix natural products and the list goes on. This blog is an extension of that love.
