Crocheting Always

Peace and Love Everyone!

You may know, I love to create things if you’ve been reading my blogs. I don’t let a month go by that I haven’t created something new or worked on a project. It just doesn’t feel right. Today’s blog is a short and sweet one on my latest crochet project.

I finished my latest pair of slippers for the winter season. I like them. Of course if I decide to make them again, there are a few things I would change.

I found this pattern on Pinterest and I’ve wanted to make them for a while. Now that summer is coming to a close I figured I needed a pair of slippers for the winter. The video at the bottom of the instruction page is also very helpful in making them.

Because of the thread that I used, I actually double it to make these. I had such a hard time creating a ball of doubled thread because the thread kept getting tangled. So when it came time to make the 2nd slipper, once I ran out of the doubled thread, I just used two different color threads together. That’s cool for me. I will always know my right slipper from my left.

I even added a little leather at the bottom to ease the wear and tear on the slippers. I added an inner sole too so that things wouldn’t just stick me in the foot as I walked around the house. I like them. Of course I need to make the leather bottom bigger under the foot. While I followed the video, I could have stopped a little more then an inch before my heel to make them tighter. They stretch out and now they only fit well with my thick socks on.🤨😁

They are pretty easy to make with the video. So if you’re looking for a slipper crochet project that is quick and yields a cute slip on, I would definitely try it.

Chapter 4 next week. 😱 Are you sitting on pins and needles to find out what happened? Me too😉

Like so many women I wear different hats. Sometimes all at once, sometimes one after another. I'm a mother, teacher, daughter, sister, friend and writer. That doesn't include my love to create things. I love working with my hands to crochet, draw, mix natural products and the list goes on. This blog is an extension of that love.
