Hi everyone! It’s been a while. I have yet to get into the grove of writing my blog regularly, but I’m working on it. I think I’ve been trying to do too much so when I rotate my to do’s based on deadlines my blog hasn’t made it.
Like many U.S. citizens I was put in a horrible financial situation because of COVID. I was emotionally thrown for a loop when I was told my livelihood depended on something that had not been researched or medically proven. So, I had to build my life over. I have spent over 20 years teaching in the classroom. When I was told I couldn’t work without putting my freedom and health on the line, I had no clue what to do next. What do you do? I had not intended on retiring.
I tutored for the rest of the school year. But I knew it wouldn’t provide me with the life I wanted. I was helping children and I enjoyed the one on one. But then what? I spent time writing and working on myself. I kept looking for work that wouldn’t come. Well, only contract jobs.
So what did I do? I became a travel agent. Did you just scrunch up your face like WTF? LOL! I know, not exactly stable, but self controlled. Let me explain what I mean. So, I knew before I retired from teaching that I would keep working. I would not stay home and just die. I wanted a job I love that I would keep doing for years to come. And one where I controlled my hours and income. That’s where the idea for stationary originally came from. (make sure to read the latest post for that) Then I found tutoring. It would be difficult to make a living on that alone, but it was okay. I didn’t mind teaching some subjects and you learn where the student is at and what they need. But I wanted something more. Tutoring is still during the school terms. What about the rest of the time? Writing is about waiting once you’ve written. And I needed a break after I focused on it. Yes, what I’m saying is I need to rotate activities to keep me interested. I know, talking about beating around the bush. Dragging it out….
I became a travel agent. I’m here to service your travel needs. Do you need show tickets? Game tickets? Need someone to take on the hassle of booking all trips and trimming for a group, wedding, birthday…… The list goes on. I got you. Not only do I love to travel, but I love exploring where to travel. It’s something I can get lost in. I have gotten lost in. I’m ready to start when I get up and I can go for hours. I remember to eat and then I go right back to it.
I love travel. What better way to spend my life then helping people to experience their greatest moments. And, I get to give discounts. How awesome is that?
