Peace & Love everyone. How are you? I hope you’re not letting this country’s hardship and mistakes take over every facet of your life.
Anyway, this will be quick. Mostly.
I’m a flight attendant now, have been for a little over a year. While working, a lot of questions come to mind. So, I’m starting this series with this one.
During my last work week, a parent, who was nursing requested a Diet Coke. I try not to make a face when that happens. And yes, it’s happened more than once. Now some of you may be thinking what’s wrong with that? Well, she told her baby the drink wasn’t for her. My question, ‘then why are you drinking it’?
Now, I am into health, but do eat and drink some foods that I would deem not good for you. I figure, like great grandma says, ‘everything in moderation.’ I try to make it occasional instead of every week or day. But it happens more so now than before this job. It’s hard to bring 2 meals and a snack for each day I fly. Anyway, over the last decade plus I have become increasingly aware of the chemicals and other things in our food, as well as its impact on our bodies. No, I have never been a medical professional. So this isn’t medical advice. Just an opinion.
As far as I know, if you are nursing, you don’t ingest things that you don’t want your baby to eat. When you are nursing, your body uses what you consume to make breast milk. It’s why many women tend to pump and dump their milk after they’ve had a glass of wine or any alcohol. I often wonder if people are even aware of what they are consuming. Do people even care? Maybe it was just that one time because she really needed or wanted it.
What do you think? Would you consume, food or drinks, that could harm you or your child while nursing? How would that impact your baby? Can it impact your baby?
