OMG! I couldn’t believe it when I saw Common walk into the restaurant. I was sitting having appetizers with my children as we waited for my dad to get to the restaurant. And in he came with his people. I waved and smiled and he and waved and smiled back. He’s totally cool I thought. I wanted to scream. I’m pretty sure I was in my head.
Then comes the waiting. I so wanted to talk to him and/or take a pic. But I didn’t want to be rude and interrupt his conversation or dinner. I didn’t want to stare, even though he was right across from me, well across on the other side of the room. Let’s just say that my view was unobstructed. Any way, as I was saying, I didn’t want to interrupt. I can’t even imagine how annoying that would be to have people stop you and ask for a pictures and such all the time. I didn’t want to be a screaming fan either. I waved at Common people. The same dude I listen to on my iPhone and in the car and at home. The same guy I had seen in several movies was sitting opposite my table in the restaurant. And get this, he waved. I was screaming in my head.
We even smiled at each other when he went to the restroom. He had to pass my table. I so should have talked to him then. But, you know, sigh. You don’t want anyone interrupting you if you really have to go. Man, I was trying to be so considerate of his time and personal life. My son didn’t even think I should ask for a picture.
I did, though. He was leaving the restaurant before us. He was talking to his people. I just waited for him to look over at us, and gestured if he could come over for a pic. OMG! He’s so sweet. He did. He greeted my dad, (my son had gone back to campus) and he greeted my daughter and I. Screaming in my head moment. I asked if I could take a pic with him and he said it had to be quick because he was leaving for a show. The same show he streamed on Instagram last night. (Scream)
So I got my picture and I shook his hand. He had a great smile. I would have loved to chat with him for a minute. I thought of several things I wanted to tell him. I should have totally given him a card for my travel business. As an entertainer he probably travels a lot and I figure everyone likes to save. Then I wanted to know if I could write in a guess appearance at ‘Zoe’s’ in the 3rd part of the 1st Line series. I thought that would be cool. Of course, I thought of these things after he was long gone. Oh well, that’s life.
