Peace and Love. Happy New Year everyone.
We’ve said goodbye to 2018 and hello to the new year. For my journal this year I’m trying the Hobonichi Techo Cousins Avec. I was cool with having my journal in 2 separate books last year so I opted for the same this year.

I’ve only been part of the planner world for 1 year so everything is still new to me. When I stumbled upon the hobonichi from Plan with Shan’s youtube video, I had to check it out. I decided back in October that this is what I would use for my planner and journal this year.

I’ve added the hobonichi to the front of my traveler’s notebook. So far I love it. I had to figure out how to use all these pages. I learned some new journaling ideas I wanted to take with me in 2019 but this new planner didn’t seem conducive to that. One of the things I wanted to continue to track was my reading for the year. So the December of 2018 became my library page. You can see it above. So far I’m loving it. Of course the year has barely started.
As of this moment I believe I’m using the hobonichi different then most. At least I think so. As I review a lot of hobonichi’s online most people don’t use stickers. I love stickers so I found a way to make them work in my journal.
The way I set up my hobonichi is that I use the weeks pages to plan my day to day schedule. The monthly calendar is for tracking my activities such as exercise, writing, reading, etc. I was using the monthly pages in the very front for tracking my sleep but I’m not really liking the way it’s working. I’m sure I’ll figure out something. The daily pages serve for my planning for teaching as well as my ideas, concepts and notes for the day. I just started using the folding stickers to see if I can condense my teaching outline.
I just started experimenting with the flowers and painting my pages. I like it. It adds color and emotion to my day. We’ll see if I keep it up.

Well that’s all hobonichi for now. I’ll let you know how it’s going as the year progresses.
Check back next week for my next blog.
Peace & Love
